Tony Or was awarded the first-ever Construction Innovation Scholarship by CIOB in 2021 and is dedicated to improving our living environment through sustainability. In this webinar he discusses his research project titled:
“New Development of Modular Integrated Construction (MIC) using Special-treated Bamboo for Rapid and Green Construction of Elderly Houses”
He discusses the project from start to finish, covering the initial idea generation, modelling and testing phase, through to conclusions and future ideas for further research. Hong Kong has an aging population and the project’s objectives were to both promote environmental conservation and speed up the supply of decent affordable flats and homes for the elderly.
