Power Station
A large power station faced rising costs and financial risk due to the absence of a Tier 2 procurement strategy, with key packages delayed until 2026. Delta Consulting Group (Delta) developed a detailed procurement schedule and cost forecast for over 50 packages, securing additional funding through targeted business cases. Delta facilitated collaboration between the contractor and owner, improving financial oversight and coordination. Our efforts not only secured extra funding for the procurement budget but also ensured project momentum and alignment with objectives, effectively managing risks and maintaining cost control.
Waste to Energy Facility
A large waste-to-energy facility faced 199 weeks of critical delays across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning. Issues included delays in 3D model releases, subcontractor appointments, and extensive process train repairs. Delta Consulting Group (Delta) was hired to assess delays at the facility processing 90,000 tons of refuse-derived fuel annually. We established the as-built critical path and quantified delays for each phase. After reviewing contemporaneous records to identify likely causes, Delta prepared a joint expert memorandum highlighting areas of agreement and key points of contention ahead of the hearing.
Panama Canal Expansion
The Panama Canal Authority (ACP) faced a range of claims related to issues encountered during the construction of the third set of locks. The contractor sought compensation for delays, disruptions and lost profits. The Delta Consulting Group (Delta) team provided expert testimony across multiple ICC and ICSID proceedings, effectively challenging the validity and substance of the contractor's claims. As a result, ACP successfully defended itself in each arbitration, with the contractor ultimately required to reimburse ACP for the funds in dispute.
